Cheerleading Classes
Cheerleading first appeared in the United States in the late 1880s with the crowd chanting as a way to encourage school spirit at athletic events.
It is now a world renowned sport, that involves teamwork, dedication and showmanship.
Cheerleaders can be associated with not only schools but sports leagues (i.e. football, basketball) and competitions.
At Gillian Davidson School of Dance we practice Cheer Dance which involves, formations, jumps, kicks and up to the minute dance types, such as hip hop street, freestyle etc. This all has to be executed in time and sequence, using pom poms to give a visual effect.
At present we hold fun and recreation classes, where dancers can take part in U.K.A Ltd Examinations and our Annual Christmas Production.
We also have competetive cheer squads called the Broxburn Angels, who will be competing throughout Scotland in the next year. Look under the Broxburn Angels tab of this website for more information.
If you wish to take part in our fun cheerleading or competitive cheerleading classes, see the timetable section of the website for classes and locations near you!
